Earlier this year, we invited students from High Performance Learning Schools (including Pathway Schools) to submit artwork for our HPL Global Art Competition. Thousands of students from across the globe entered the competition and shared incredible pieces of artwork.
The competition was open to 3 to 18-year olds and divided entrants into the following categories; Category 1: Ages 3-7 (Early Years and Lower Primary), Category 2: Ages 7-11 (Upper Primary), Category 3: Ages 11-14 (Lower Secondary), Category 4: Ages 14-16 (Upper Secondary), and Category 5: Ages 16-18 (Post 16).
We asked students to create a piece of artwork based on ‘Empathy’ - an essential VAA for High Performing Learners. Becoming a high performing learner isn’t just about learning how to think but about how to think responsibly. Remember, success is rarely the result of an individual working alone so empathy is so important. Working together, negotiating, giving and receiving help, and giving and receiving feedback is important. Being concerned for society helps learners deal with ambiguity and with complex problems while encouraging them to be good citizens.
High Performance Learning thanks all the incredible students who submitted their artwork. It was such a tough process picking winners but, after much deliberation, we’re excited to announce our winners.
