TrumpteachIn early December, HPL’s Director of Programmes Anne Howells and Founder Professor Deborah Eyre met with a delegation from the Chancheng District of China at St Anne’s College, University of Oxford. Hosted by Ming Kwok, CEO of Tumptech, Hong Kong, the delegation comprised the Vice President of the District, the Heads of Secondary and Primary Education at the Education Development Bureau plus Karen Kiang, Director of International Cooperation Sector. 

Professor Eyre gave a presentation on High Performance Learning which generated considerable discussion. The delegation recognised the need for educators to re-align pedagogical practice to ensure that we are enabling all children and young people to perform highly and meet the demands of a rapidly changing world of work.

 

 

Our last working day before the Christmas break is Thursday 20 December. The office will reopen again on Thursday 3 January. Merry Christmas and a happy new year, from all at HPL. We can't wait to see where our schools will take HPL in 2019!

With 20 years experience in the education sector, working both in the UK and internationally, Matt is skilled in building communities and brings with him a passion for new technologies.

The sky's the limitDoha College’s journey with HPL has been profiled in International Teacher Magazine’s December edition. Telling the story from the very beginning in September 2016, to becoming the first ever HPL World Class School, Principal Steffen Sommer, Vice Principal Neil Thomas and Assistant Principal Uzma Zaffar share how they implemented HPL and the transformational impact it has had. They summarise in one sentence: “High Performance Learning is fast changing the way we teach, children learn, and parents support.”

Reigate Grammar breakfast meeting Dec18Save the date! We are delighted that HPL Award school Reigate Grammar, is hosting an HPL showcase event on the afternoon of 23 January 2019. All school leaders interested in finding out more can register to attend. This is a unique opportunity to see live how HPL transforms classroom practice in a high performing school, and speak to teachers and learners about their experiences.
