We were delighted to have keynote sessions from Professor Deborah Eyre, Founder and Chair of High Performance Learning, and Dr Javid Farahani, PhD researcher and UEFA coach, as well as workshops and a student panel.
Professor Deborah Eyre
Professor Deborah Eyre is the Founder and Chair at High Performance Learning (HPL) Services Ltd. Her interests lie in systematically creating high performance for all students through institutional commitment to that mission. A widely published author in the area of advanced cognition, her most recent books, High Performance Learning: How to Become a World Class School and Great Minds and How to Grow Them were published in 2016 and 2017 respectively and are amongst the most popular books on the Routledge list. Always in demand globally as a keynote speaker, Deborah brings passion and coherence to educational thinking. During her extensive career, she has held senior leadership roles in both K-12 education and Higher Education and it is this breadth and depth of understanding that leads to her advice is sought regularly by governments and educational foundations in UK, Middle East, Asia and USA. Deborah is a Freeman of the City of London and has an attachment to St Hugh’s College, Oxford University.
Doctor Javid Farahani
Doctor Javid Farahani is an entrepreneur, UEFA coach and PhD researcher who specialises in cognitive testing and training in the areas of sport, education and business. He has worked with Premier League and Bundesliga clubs including Bayern Munich, Hamburg, Crystal Palace, Fulham and West Ham. He works on using scientific methods to find ways to improve performance in elite sports and the general public. He runs experiments to study scientific facts which can be used in the real world and design training methods to improve cognitive performance.
What is High Performance Learning?
High Performance Learning (HPL) is a mission-driven organisation, founded by Professor Deborah Eyre, that works with schools and teachers to change the face of education and deliver high student performance for the many. HPL is currently working with school leaders to transform the way their organisations work and with teachers to develop High Performance Learning approaches in the classroom, which ultimately uplifts learner performance.
