A. Working with Students

Who: Students and teachers
How long: Half a day
Outcome: Teachers see how students respond to HPL and how to use the framework in class

  • Direct classroom involvement with students to model effective ways of introducing HPL
  • Engaging and exciting students so that they will employ these learning methods in a sustainable way
  • Giving teaching staff confidence to employ these HPL techniques in their lessons.

B. Leading HPL in Your School

Who: HPL Lead and SLT
How long: Half a day
Outcome: Designated senior staff feel confident to lead HPL in your school

  • Understanding the role of the school HPL lead and identifying other ‘change mechanisms’ within your school that will move HPL forward
  • Understanding the most effective ways of managing implementation and change in your school
  • Planning the next steps for your school.

C. HPL Fellowship

Who: HPL Lead Teachers
How long: 2 hours x 2
Outcome: Individual staff develop as “Teacher Researchers” to support high performance in your school

  • Teachers understand and develop approaches to action research in classrooms
  • Teachers research and trial HPL methodology to develop new materials
  • Teachers develop good practice in HPL methodology which is disseminated as part of the “HPL Community.”
